User Permissions
If you need to give access to a user, change access or remove access, use these instructions.
- Log into the website at: https://www.lclibrary.org/sso
- At the top of the page, click on Modules at the top, then Site Tools on the left and then User Administration.

Find the user in the user list. There are two user lists:
- Back-End Users: These are users who have access to the back-end administration of the website like staff.
- Front-End Users: These are patrons who have signed up for notifications from our website. They do not have any access to the admin side of the webpage.
Find the user you are changing and click on their name.
If the user you want to edit is not in the list, click on the Add User button. Fill in the Email Address (make sure it is the same as their library email), first name, and last name.
There are two types of groups that users can belong to. Front-End groups are for the public side of the website and you do not need to change any of those. The Back-End groups are for granting permission to the administrative side of the website. Select or de-select the Back-End group that applies to the user.
- System Administrator: These are only for Systems staff. Members of this group have access to all parts of the website.
- Administration: This group is for users who need to access administration pages on the site (jobs, policies).
- Adult Services: This group is for users who need access to adult services pages on the website.
- Augusta Branch: This group grants access to the Augusta pages.
- Blog Admins: This group is no longer in use and can be ignored. We cannot get rid of it.
- Bookmobile branch: This group grants access to the outreach pages.
- Child Services: This group grants access to the Children's pages.
- Collections: This group grants access to the technical services, collections and ILL pages.
- East Helena Branch: This group grants access to the East Helena pages.
- Foundation: This group grants access to the Foundation pages.
- Jump Start: I do not know what this is for and have never used it. Ignore it.
- Lincoln Branch: This grants access to the Lincoln pages.
- Public Information: This grants access to the public information pages on the site. This includes almost all the pages, plus access to the jobs module, and newsflash module.
- Public Services: This grants access to the public services pages.
- Site Admin: This is a built in group that we do not use.
- Slideshow Editor: This is an old group we no longer use.
- Teen Services: This grants access to the Teen pages.
After granting the necessary group permissions, save the user.
