The Sonicwall SMA (Secure Mobile Access) device allows remote users to log into the library domain remotely and to access library resources while logged in.

To enable users to access the SMA, they must be in the appropriate AD group.  To do this:

- Open Active Directory Users and Computers logged into a computer as an admin

- Find the user and open their account and click on the Member of tab

- Add the group called Remote Users (the SMA will only allow users in this group to access the network remotely)

 

Next, you must add the user to the SMA device.

- Log into the SMA https://vpn.lclibrary.org to the LocalDomain as the admin with admin password

- Go to users - local users and click on add user

- Type in the username (first initial + last name) of the user and select the lclibrary domain then click on submit

 

The next step is to install the SMA connect and NetExtender software on the computer. 

- Log into the computer as admin

- Download and install the netextender.msi application from the systems folder/applications/sonicwall sma/

- Make sure it is the msi version, not the exe version. 

- After installation, restart the device and log in as the user to the vpn (use the end user instructions)

- Make sure that the server name is: vpn.lclibrary.org and the domain is lclibrary.  (case sensitive)

- Once you are logged into the desktop - open the netextender application.

- Click on the wrench in the lower left corner of the NetExtender client to open the options

- Make sure the following items are set:
