Adding or Editing a user on the Door Access system

The PDK security system is what the library uses to manage access to doors that require either a PIN or a keyfob.  This is a different system from the building security panel 


Adding a new user

Accessing the security system console:

Open a browser and go to https://accounts.pdk.io/login

Use your login credentials set during PDK account creation.

 

Click on the People icon at the top left of the options.


In the People page, click the + button at the bottom right hand corner.

 

Fill out the first and last name fields.  Click the Add button when done.

The page will refresh and show new fields for cards. This is where RFID cards/ fobs, keypad codes and groups will go.

 

For keypad codes, simply type the desired PIN in the proper field. Codes are not limited to 4 digits. 

 

For RFID cards click the + next to Credentials. Then add the card number.

Click Add when you have finished entering the card number.

 

Now click the + next to Group to add the user to the proper group.

 

Most library staff will have Business Hours access.  Only management and other staff specified by the Director have 24/7 access.

Click Add when finished.

Once all of the information is added, click the Save button at the top right.

Editing or modifying an existing user:

Access the user you'd like to modify.

Enter the keypad code in the PIN field.

Click the + next to Credentials  and add the card number.

When you click Save, the page should refresh. A normal user with a code and card/fob will look something like this:

 

Removing a User from the Door Access System

To remove a user from the door access system, make sure the supervisor or manager has obtained any key fobs or key cards from the employee.  Once the fobs or cards have been removed from a user, they are available to be used again for future staff.

Go to the Door Access website:  https://accounts.pdk.io/login

Log in using your credentials

Click on the people icon in the top left of the options box.

Find the user you are removing and open them. 

On the User screen, click on the 3 dot menu in the upper right and choose Delete.

It will ask you to confirm the deletion.  Click on OK.
