Open the console for the domain controller (DC) from Vcenter.
Open the Active Directory Users and Computers panel.
On the left side, click on Users under the domain lclibrary.org.
Click on the Add new user button on the toolbar.
Fill out the First name, Last name, and the user login name (First Initial, Last name).
Set the temporary password (typically Library1690) and uncheck user must change password at next login.
After creating the user, open the user up.
From the General tab - set any appropriate information if desired.
Click on the Member of tab and set the appropriate groups. (these settings are used mostly to set drive mappings, not email groups or Teams)
- AdministrationStaff - only staff in the Administration department (sets mapped drive to administration drive)
- Administrators - only staff in the Systems Department
- Augusta - Augusta staff (sets drive mappings for AUG share drive and personal drive on branch server)
- Domain Admins - only staff in the Systems Department
- Domain Users - All staff are a member of this group
- East Helena - East Helena staff (sets drive mappings for EHB share drive and personal drive on branch server)
- Helena Staff - Helena staff (sets drive mappings for local personal network drive)
- Lincoln - Lincoln staff (sets drive mappings for LIN share drive and persona drive on branch server)
- ProgrammingStaff - members of programming staff (sets mapped drive for programming)
- SystemsStaff - members of the Systems staff (sets mapped drive for systems)
- TechServicesStaff - members of the Technical services department (sets mapped drive for tech services)
After adding the user, open the Synchonization Service Manager on the DC. You should see an entry for an addition.
3. Click on the People icon at the top left of the options.
2. Fill out the first and last name fields.
3. Click the Add button when done.
4. The page will refresh and show new fields for cards. This is where RFID cards/ fobs, keypad codes and groups will go.
2. For RFID cards click the + next to Credentials. Then add the card number.
3. Click Add when you have finished entering the card number.
4. Now click the + next to Group to add the user to the proper group.
5. Click Add when finished selecting the proper group.
5. Once all of the information is added, click the Save button at the top right.
